Overview
The mission of Global Logistics Support Services, Incorporated (GLSS) is to provide Maintenance, Supply, Logistics, and Technical Support Services that meet or exceed customer requirements. GLSS delivers effective, quality services and builds customer satisfaction through continuous performance and process improvements.
Headquartered in Huntsville, Alabama, GLSS is a Wholly Owned Subsidiary of System Studies and Simulation, Inc. (S³).

Jan Smith
CEO
About Jan
Jan Smith is an Alabama native, educated at Jacksonville State University. She began her career as an associate software engineer in support of Boeing for NASA’s space missions.
As Ms. Smith grew as a technical analyst and senior manager, she led simulation and modeling tasks at Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC) for Army R&D and acquisition programs managed by the Space and Missile Defense Command (SMDC). She later joined Nichols Research Corporation (NRC) where she became the Vice President for Computer Applications and directed Systems Engineering and Technical Assistance (SETA) programs in support of the Army Aviation and Missile Command.
Today, Ms. Smith is the CEO of S³, the technical solutions company she founded in Huntsville, AL in 1991. The company operates in more than 25 states and provides professional services and solutions to the Department of Defense (Army, Air Force, Navy, and Marines) and numerous commercial clients.
Gary Toney

About Gary
Gary Toney joined System Studies, and Simulation, Inc., in December 2024 and is the General Manager for the Global Logistics Support Services (GLSS) subsidiary located at the Huntsville, AL office. Gary brings extensive experience in aviation logistics contract management, including management of profit and loss across the US military and civil aviation business areas, as well as experience in capture management/business development with aviation business opportunities.
Prior to joining S³, Inc., Gary worked with Amentum/DynCorp International from September 2016 through November 2024 as the Senior Director of Operation for the Aviation Business Unit located in Huntsville, AL. Additionally, Gary served as the Regional Program Manager for the AFM II – East Contract, a Capture Manager/Senior Director of Business Development responsible for pursuing aviation business opportunities. Also, Gary worked with PAE/DS2 and L-3 Communications as a Senior Director of Army Aviation Logistics Operations/Business Development and Senior Director, Regional Aviation Sustainment Manager – East (RASM-E) responsible for strategic planning, business integration, quality management, and business performance for aviation field maintenance and sustainment services, primarily for the US Army.
COL(R) Gary Toney retired in June 2014, culminating a 29-year career as an Army Aviator. As an Army Aviation Maintenance Officer, Gary commanded aviation maintenance units from the company through the battalion level. Gary has extensive experience in operational and strategic logistics planning and execution, to include 12 months as the Chief of Staff to the senior logistics commander in the Iraqi theater of operations supporting the drawdown of forces in 2010. Gary is a graduate of the Army Command and General Staff College and the U.S. Army War College. His aircraft qualifications include OH-58A/C, UH-1, AH-1, AH-64, UH-60, and Maintenance Test Pilot for the AH-64A.
John H. Briggs

About John
John Briggs is the Senior Program Manager for Global Logistics Support Services (GLSS) Contract Field Teams Program, which delivers quality Maintenance, Supply, Transportation, and Technical Support Services to Department of Defense and Commercial Customers.
John is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) with over 40 years of experience planning and managing complex maintenance and logistics programs and operations for commercial and military organizations. He is currently responsible for the execution of ten projects with over 350 employees at twelve locations nationwide.
His commercial experience includes service as General Manager, Senior Program Manager, Director of Program Development and Corporate Logistics Manager. Prior to retiring from the Army, John was the Senior Advisor for Maintenance and Logistics for the Office of the Program Manager, Saudi Arabian National Guard (OPM-SANG).
Previous duty assignments include Support Operations Officer, 215th Forward Support Battalion; 1st Cavalry Division Property Book Officer; and 3rd Armored Division General Supply Officer. A distinguished graduate of the Virginia Military Institute, John holds a Master of Science Degree in Logistics Management from Texas A&M University – Central Texas.
Chris Boyle

About Chris
Chris Boyle serves as the GLSS Quality Control manager and is responsible for documenting, implementing, maintaining, and continually improving the effectiveness of our Quality Management System (QMS) in compliance with AS 9100 Revision D and ISO 9001:2015 Standards to provide optimal support for our current and future customers.
A native of Oregon, Mr. Boyle relocated to Northern Alabama upon retirement from the U.S. Army in the summer of 2024 after more than 30 years of service. Chris served in every enlisted leadership position during his career from Squad Leader to Brigade Command Sergeant Major. Additionally, he gained his Aviation experience first as an AH-64A Apache Crew-chief and expanded his experience through concurrent growth and technical advancements in the AH-64Ev6+, CH-47F, and UH-60M/HH modernization. His Technical Roles include AH/UH/CH Quality Control Inspector, and Production Control Manager.
Chris has served in Europe, The Pacific (Arctic, Jungle), and the Middle East. His experience includes multiple deployments to Bosnia, Iraq, and Afghanistan. He is a University of Arizona, Forbes School of Business and Technology student pursuing his BA in Business Leadership, and a Graduate of the U.S. Army Sergeants Major Course (Resident, Class 68).
